New Bridgewater Bridge, Tasmania

The New Bridgewater Bridge is a major transport infrastructure project in Tasmania. It will replace the existing lift-span bridge built in the 1940s with a new one-kilometre long bridge with four lanes. The new bridge will cut travel times for the 22,000 people that use the route each day.

The project includes the construction of a new bridge, two enhanced major interchanges, and a shared pathway for cyclists and pedestrians.

Chadwick Geotechnics provided our clients with a comprehensive geotechnical investigation that included field and laboratory testing. The investigation was designed to provide information about the subsurface conditions at the site, which will be used to design the foundations for the New Bridgewater Bridge.
